The Complexity of School Avoidance: What Every Educator Should Know to
Re-engage Students

Attendees will learn about the neuroscience of anxiety and be able to identify three ways to support students in managing school avoidance. Attendees will learn why teamwork is essential in supporting students with school avoidance and will identify at least two ways to increase communication amongst team members. Attendees will learn what PANS/PANDAS is and be able to identify the diagnostic criteria for ruling out this medical condition that may impact school attendance.
