School Environments

Participants will understand that trauma-sensitive school environments require long-term buy in and investment across an entire school community. Participants will examine how trauma is a profound and meaningful loss of control over experience that encompasses individual incidents to systems of power and oppression. Participants will learn that in order to care for others and create trauma-sensitive learning environments, educators need to receive the same type of care and attention that students are offered.
