October 12, 2023; November 9, 2023; December 14, 2023; January 11, 2024; February 8, 2024
Participants will have a working knowledge of state and federal laws related to disciplinary due process and the requirements to consider alternatives to suspension. They will have a working knowledge of the appropriate legal updates in the areas of general education and special education practice before the Bureau of Special Education Appeals. Participants will also have a working knowledge of a public school districts’ obligations under state and federal law when responding to complaints of both bullying and discriminatory harassment based upon the victim’s membership in a protected class.
