Lisa MacDonald, M.Ed., Founder, Elleminc Consulting

In session four, participants will explore the importance of demonstrating active listening, nonverbal cues, intentional questioning, and empathy for when, not if, confrontation arises. It seems simple, but research shows these elements are often the missing ingredients when we find ourselves in a confrontation—whether it be a disagreement with a colleague, feeling like you’re on the defense from a parent of one of your students, or even a moral dilemma you’ve been handed. We will apply what has been discussed to date and engage in facilitated role playing with various scenarios and a case study that demonstrates how our confrontation approach changes depending upon the stakeholder.
