Description
The impact of trauma on students’ ability to access curriculum and make effective progress in the classroom is well known and studied. This workshop will review this research, exploring the ways in which specific, relational, and developmental traumas show up in our classrooms through students’ behavior, effort, and relationships. Practical strategies to support the development of a sense of physical and emotional safety will be presented, with an emphasis on building resiliency through connection.
