REMOTE WORKSHOP - What Happens When Our Most Marginalized Students Return?

May 8th, 2020

10am-12pm

Speaker: Michelle D. Lipinski, M.Ed., Principal, Northshore Recovery High School

Upon returning to school in the fall, many of our most vulnerable students will be experiencing significant regression in not only their academics but also in their behaviors.  We anticipate many of our students who were previously struggling with mental health and substance use disorders may need additional interventions to help them get back "on track."  Michelle will discuss some of the current data which highlights who is getting suspended, the negative consequences of student suspension, and some promising practices to provide positive interventions in lieu of negative consequences.
