REMOTE WORKSHOP- Behavioral Activation: Addressing the Needs of Students with Depression During Social Distancing

Overview: Participants will learn about the use of behavioral activation to support students presenting with depression. Students who may already be socially isolating are at a heightened risk of a sustained cycle of inactivity, isolation, and depression as a function of the need to engage in social distancing during the COVID-19 crisis. Strategies and resources to support students remotely and engage them in behavioral activation will be shared.

  • Webinar registration will close 24 hours before each workshop. You will receive the link to access the webinar the night before.
  • PDP/CEU requests must be emailed to Sydney at  sydney@mpyinc.org AFTER each webinar. The full 6 character code provided throughout each webinar must be included on each request form.  Make sure you have completed at least 5 webinars before submitting your PDP request forms.
  • You must have Adobe Acrobat Pro downloaded on your computer if you want a fillable form. Otherwise you must scan the documents.

Membership Information
Member rates for MPY events are available to current employees of member organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development conferences. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of events an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. They will not have to be linked, as previously required.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY conferences an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the events and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff, upon approval from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW and MaMHCA separately for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the appropriate paperwork.
