REMOTE WORKSHOP- Educating Amid Contagion: Inner Skills for Teaching from Resilience

In this current time of virus-sparked uncertainty, and even long after COVID-19 has eased and we return to classrooms, disruption, confusion and fear will remain.  In this workshop, we will discuss the emotional and psychological conditions teachers, counselors and administrators will face when schools reopen.  We will learn and practice the mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral skills to manage our own fears, frustrations and uncertainty and model and directly teach these skills to students as they return to school. This workshop will be interactive and hands-on in terms of discussion, sharing and practice of skills.

Membership Information
Member rates for MPY events are available to current employees of member organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development conferences. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of events an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. They will not have to be linked, as previously required.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY conferences an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the events and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff, upon approval from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW and MaMHCA separately for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the appropriate paperwork.
