2 Hour Webinar: Autonomous and Controlled Motivation in Educational Settings

January 15th, 2021

1:00-3:00pm

Speaker: Lenworth Williamson, Dean of Students of the Pingree School

Description: This two-hour webinar will examine Edward Deci and Richard Ryan's Self-Determination Theory and how this framework applies to youth development work within schools and nonprofits. Adults who provide support, guidance, and education to young people play a vital role in creating environments that allow kids to personally, socially, and emotionally thrive. Best practices for supporting student growth and overall well-being will be explored in an attempt to answer the question: What keeps kids motivated?
