Fostering Healthy Relationships in the Classroom and Beyond

This 10-hour course will allow participants to deepen their understanding of trauma and domestic violence and the impact on child development. Sessions will alternate between workshops that focus on building content knowledge and workshops that are strategy focused and foster skill building. It will conclude with a session focused on the impact of trauma-exposure on teachers, counselors, and administrators and strategies for caring for ourselves and creating school environments and structures that are conducive for healing for every adult, child, and family.
Attendees must register for and participate in all 5 two-hour webinar sessions. A code will given out during each session for accountability purposes. Please hold onto all 5 codes- you will enter them into the PDP/CEU forms. Forms must be completed after the 5th session. PDP/CEU forms are available on the page of the 5th session. You will receive your certificates at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
MPY webinars are available to ONLY current employees of member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.
PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of webinars an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. All 5 sessions of each 10 Hour Webinar must be attended in order to receive 10 PDPs.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY webinars an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the webinars and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff. Webinar participants may request CEUs by submitting the appropriate MPY forms. Application for social work continuing education credits has been submitted to NASW. Please contact Lauren@mpyinc.org for the status of social work CEU accreditation. CEUs are no longer available through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA).
