Helping the Helpers: Consultation Strategies to Get Teachers to Implement Your Recommendations!: Session 5

Time: 3:30-5:30pm

Description: School specialists (e.g. counselors, SLPs, BCBAs etc.) bring diverse expertise to the school setting.  Their role encompasses both direct service delivery as well as consultation to teachers and other personnel to help them implement strategies and reinforce skills across settings.  Effective consultation is critical as interventions are unlikely to be successful unless they are widely and consistently implemented.  This course reviews strategies for developing collaborative relationships with consultees so that specialist expertise is fully utilized. 



  • During each session of the webinar you will receive a code. If you are requesting PDPs, CEUs, or a Certificate of Attendance, you will need these codes for your forms. This is required for accountability purposes.
  • Please submit request forms within 8 days after the webinar. The forms will be removed from the event page 8 days after the webinar.
  • All certificates will be emailed at the end of the school year.


Attendees must register for and participate in all 5 two-hour webinar sessions. PDP/CEU forms must be completed after the 5th session. PDP/CEU forms are available on the page of the 5th session. You will receive your certificates at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. 

Membership Information

MPY webinars are available to ONLY current employees of member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of webinars an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. All 5 sessions of each 10 Hour Webinar must be attended in order to receive 10 PDPs.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY webinars an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the webinars and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff. Webinar participants may request CEUs by submitting the appropriate MPY forms. Application for social work continuing education credits has been submitted to NASW.  Please contact Lauren@mpyinc.org for the status of social work CEU accreditation. CEUs are no longer available through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA).
