School Threat Assessment: Session 3

Time: 1:00-3:00pm

The goal of this 10 hour webinar is to train school personnel on how to assess and triage school threats and create effective response and threat mitigation plans using best-practices based on guidelines from the Secret Service and FBI. The target audience for this webinar is school personnel including but not limited to administrators, clinical staff and school resource officers who are currently on school threat assessment teams or those who are potentially involved in threat assessment teams that are yet to be developed.

Attendees must register for and participate in all 5 one-hour webinar sessions. A code will given out during each session for accountability purposes. Please hold onto all 5 codes- you will enter them into the PDP/CEU forms. Forms must be completed after the 5th session. PDP/CEU forms are available on the page of the 5th session. You will receive your certificates at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Membership Information

Most MPY webinars are available to ONLY current employees of member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of webinars an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. 
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY webinars an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the webinars and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees at the end of the school year.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW and the MaMHCA for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the request form above.
