10 Hour Webinar -Why Are We Losing This Generation To Substance Use and Mental Health?: Session 5

"Say no to drugs" used to be the mantra we were all trained to repeat in protection of our young minds. That, along with fashionable DARE T-shirts and images of fried eggs representing "your brain on drugs" were the most common approaches to teaching young people about substance use back in the 90s.  But slogans, t-shirts and memes are not going to save this generation; real human connections will. This workshop will focus on evidence-based, scientifically proven approaches. 

Attendees must register for and participate in all 5 two-hour webinar sessions. A code will given out during each session for accountability purposes. Please hold onto all 5 codes- you will enter them into the PDP/CEU forms. Forms must be completed after the 5th session. PDP/CEU forms are available on the page of the 5th session. You will receive your certificates at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. 

 

Membership Information

MPY webinars are available to ONLY current employees of member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of webinars an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. All 5 sessions of each 10 Hour Webinar must be attended in order to receive 10 PDPs.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY conferences an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the webinars and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff, upon approval from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). CEUs are no longer available through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the appropriate paperwork.
