Overdoses in the Time of Covid ...and the saving power of a personal connection

Description: March- June, overdoses in Massachusetts have significantly increased. Domestic violence and child abuse numbers are staggering. Yet teachers are not trained as therapists and clinicians, so how will schools meet the escalating needs of students and families this fall? Through the power of relationship and authentic, real connection. Learn how marginalized communities and BIPOC disproportionately suffer at the hand of COVID and mental health disorders due to systemic failures and how educators can combat these racist systems.

  • During the webinar you will receive a code. If you are requesting PDPs, CEUs, or a Certificate of Attendance, you will need this code for your forms. This is required for accountability purposes.
  • If you need a Certificate of Attendance instead of PDPs or CEUs, please email Sydney at sydney@mpyinc.org. Please include the code from the webinar in your email.
  • Please submit request form within 5 days after the webinar. The forms will be removed from the event page 5 days after the webinar.
  • All certificates will be emailed at the end of the school year.


Membership Information

MPY webinars are available to ONLY current employees of member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of webinars an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. All 5 sessions of each 10 Hour Webinar must be attended in order to receive 10 PDPs.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY conferences an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the webinars and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff, upon approval from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). CEUs are no longer available through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the appropriate paperwork.
