Description: Schools remain immersed in addressing the profound effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on students' physical and mental health. Educators report a high level of student disengagement and recognize that family stressors such as job loss, food and housing insecurity, and lack of childcare impact a student's ability to learn, remotely and in-person. This 2-hour webinar will uncover emerging best practices in schools that focus on the power of relationships, connections, and community partnerships as levers for student and family support. Participants will hear about one district’s universal family engagement strategy that has enabled student support teams to mobilize and provide critical services necessary before, during and post-pandemic.
Open to nonmembers for a $100. fee
Most MPY webinars are available to ONLY current employees of member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.
PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of webinars an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY webinars an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the webinars and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees at the end of the school year.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW and the MaMHCA for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the request form above.
