During this session, we will explore ways educators can create inclusive classroom communities using culturally responsive and sustaining practices that position our scholars to thrive. Participants will leave the session with a comprehensive toolkit of #disrupttexts, belonging activities, culture checklists and more.
This webinar is part of a 3 part series, Creating Brave Care Communities in Schools. These are stand alone webinars and participants may register for one or all three sessions. PDPs and/or CEUs will be awarded for each session. We encourage you to also register for the following sessions:

About the Speaker
Craig Martin, M.Ed. is an award-winning teacher and principal, and frequent speaker on leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, social-emotional learning, culturally responsive pedagogy and practice, and culturally responsive teaching. He serves as the Executive Director of Bridge Boston Charter School in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. Craig was named the 2018 National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and 2018 Elementary Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators Association. In 2009, Boston Public Schools awarded Craig the Educator of the Year award. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Dillard University in his native New Orleans, Louisiana, and his Master of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Most MPY webinars are available to ONLY current staff from member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees and members of committees, including but not limited to, PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils, and school volunteers, are not considered MPY members.
PDPs and CEUs
MPY is an approved Professional Development Provider through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (F20180079 provider number). Professional Development Points (PDPs) are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours of training.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). The NASW and the MaMHCA approves each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the request form above.
Requests for PDPs and CEUs must be submitted within 8 days of the webinar. PDPs and CEUs will only be issued to participants who have attended the webinar(s) and submitted the appropriate paperwork within 8 days of the webinar, with accurate accountability codes.
PDP and CEU certificates will be emailed to attendees at the end of the school year.
