A microaggression is a statement, action, or incident regarded as an instance of indirect, subtle, or unintentional discrimination against members of a marginalized group such as a racial or ethnic minority. Through a culturally inclusive lens, this webinar will examine the history and evolution of microaggressions. Participants will learn about microaggressions, their layers and their impact on minority groups.
Attendees must register for and participate in all 5 webinar sessions. A code will be given out during each session for accountability purposes. Please hold onto all 5 codes- you will enter them into one PDP and/or CEU form. Forms must be completed within 8 days of the 5th session. PDP/CEU forms are available on the Request Forms tab on the MPY Website. You will receive your certificates at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
About the Speaker
Cyndi Weekes Bradley is the founder and CEO of The Equity Project. She was born in Barbados. Cyndi immigrated with her family to America in 1980. She was raised in Dorchester, Ma, and attended Boston Public Schools including one of its examination schools. She has over 20-years of school-based experience within teaching and leadership. While leading 10-years of private consulting in strategic planning, social justice, and racial equity awareness. She is a CAST UDL Train-The-Trainer and PBIS Coach certified. She holds a Bachelor of Art with a major in sociology and a minor in child psychology from the University of Massachusetts. She also holds a Master of Art in Teaching from Simmons University (Formerly Simmons College - Class of 2006). In addition, she has attained a professional certification in Urban Leadership from Harvard University's National Institute for Urban School Leaders.
Cyndi holds an ECE Teacher Certification from MA Department of Early Education and Care. She also holds several MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certifications. She has three certifications in school-based leadership - PreK-5, 5-6, and 9-12 as a Principal/Assistant Principal. In addition, attained a MA DESE certification of SPED Administrator at All Levels; as well as one for a School Superintendent. Her talents and gifts support the growth of staff, students, and families through the process of seeking deeper knowledge, distributive leadership, equity, racial equity, instructional leadership, special education, and creating authentic shared spaces for district and school staff to unpack and leverage their work.

Most MPY webinars are available to ONLY current staff from member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees and members of committees, including but not limited to, PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils, and school volunteers, are not considered MPY members.
PDPs and CEUs
MPY is an approved Professional Development Provider through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (F20180079 provider number). Professional Development Points (PDPs) are offered for all MPY professional development webinars. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours of training.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). The NASW and the MaMHCA approves each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the request form above.
Requests for PDPs and CEUs must be submitted within 8 days of the webinar. PDPs and CEUs will only be issued to participants who have attended the webinar(s) and submitted the appropriate paperwork within 8 days of the webinar, with accurate accountability codes.
PDP and CEU certificates will be emailed to attendees at the end of the school year.
