REMOTE WORKSHOP - Using the MTSS Framework to Establish and Sustain Comprehensive Student, Family, and Staff Supports during the COVID-19 Emergency

Overview: While the current crisis has called upon district and school leaders to make rapid decisions and implement new systems for at-home academic learning, it also calls on leaders and support staff to develop systems for non-academic supports for students, families, and staff; this need is only likely to grow as the pandemic continues. This session will focus on the use of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Framework to deploy and align available resources to ensure that no student, family, or staff member falls through the cracks during this period, and that supplemental and intensive supports are available to those who need them. There will be ample time for small group discussion and for reviewing and planning with the tools available through BRYT’s online interactive COVID-19 MTSS map.

This workshop is free of charge for Massachusetts K-12 educators. There is a $100 fee for educators out of state. Please contact Lauren@mpyinc.org for more info.

Membership Information
Member rates for MPY events are available to current employees of member organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees, members of committees including but not limited to PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils and school volunteers are not considered MPY members.

PDPs and CEUs
PDPs are offered for all MPY professional development conferences. PDPs are issued for a minimum of 10 hours. Any combination of events an individual attends will be used to accumulate PDPs. They will not have to be linked, as previously required.
PDPs certificates will be issued at the end of the school year for all MPY conferences an individual attends during this school year. PDPs can only be issued to participants who have attended the events and submitted the appropriate paperwork. PDP certificates will be emailed to attendees.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for clinical staff, upon approval from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, Inc. (MaMHCA). Approval is granted by the NASW and MaMHCA separately for each event. Event participants may request CEUs by filling out the appropriate paperwork.
