Turning Toward Yourself – A Day of Reflection & Resiliency
A High School Student Conference
March 11- Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall, Melrose
Keynote speaker, Zeenat Potia, M.A., is committed to sharing mindfulness with underserved and underrepresented populations. She was born in Mumbai, India, and is an expert in mindfulness. Zeenat will be joined by Mitch Abblett, Ph.D., Author, Consultant, and Clinical Psychologist; Pat Barbieri, M.Ed., Executive Director, LABBB Collaborative; Paula Black M.Ed., Assistant Director of Student Services, Newton Public Schools; Tara Healey, M.Ed., Director of Mind the Moment, Mindfulness Program at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; and Ed Hauben, Mindfulness Practitioner and Teacher. The day will be filled with interactive and hands-on experiences to help students: · Build resiliency · Improve emotional regulation · Make informed and thoughtful choices · Develop positive self-talk · Build compassion With a focus on mindfulness, students will build strategies and skills and gain insight into social and emotional learning. We look forward to hosting Massachusetts high school students at this informative and cutting-edge conference. |

Registration: 8:15 am - 9:00 am Conference: 9:00 am -1:15 pm Students must be accompanied by advisors (1 advisor per 10 students). $20 per student. No charge per advisor.
