Speaker: Julia Bruss Campion, LCSW, Ed.M., Senior Manager of Trauma Informed Care, Riverside Trauma Center
In this two-part training, participants will gain a greater understanding of trauma-informed care and what it means to be a trauma-sensitive or safe and supportive school. Participants will examine how this differs from and overlaps with trauma treatment, as well as what school personnel can do to ensure their practices and policies are trauma-informed. Specifically, concepts of safety, predictability, and control, and strategies to help establish them in school settings. Particular attention is paid to self- and co-regulation, affect management, and self-care skills both for students and school personnel.
Attendees must register for and participate in both two-hour webinar sessions. A code will be given out during each session for accountability purposes. Please hold onto the codes- you will enter them into one PDPand/or CEU form, which are available on the Request Forms page on MPY's website. Forms must be completed within 8 days of the 2nd session.
