In this seminar, we will work to help school staff enhance their self-care and co-regulate with their students to lower stress, increase attention and enhance the educational experience for students and teachers. Building on the notion of working smarter-versus-harder, the seminar will help teachers enhance their approach to classroom support by developing preventive plans to assist in enhancing classroom culture. Within the seminar, we will also explore current trends and understanding related to impact of technology on young people. Specifically, it will look at the pleasure-pain / delight-discomfort “drugification” process that technology has accelerated for so many aspects of our personal, recreational and social experiences.

About the Speaker
Jonathan Brody, LICSW
Jonathan Brody, LICSW, (he/him) is the founder and director of Northampton Area Counseling. He has over twenty years of experience specializing in the treatment of adolescents and adults struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, bipolar, autism-spectrum experiences, psychosis and substance use.
He uses strengths and evidenced-based approaches grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, narrative and motivational models.
In addition to his direct clinical work, he has over a decade of experience providing clinical social work related supervision, leadership, program development, consultation, evaluation, training and teaching. With this, he recently joined the teaching staff in the Sociology Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Membership Information
Most MPY webinars are available ONLY to current staff from member districts and organizations. Public school memberships include police and fire personnel. Former and retired employees and members of committees, including but not limited to, PTO/PTA, PAC, School Improvement Councils, Health Councils, Drug/Alcohol Councils, and school volunteers, are not considered MPY members.

If you are unable to attend a MPY webinar you must cancel, through Bonnie Mullen at bonnie@mpyinc.org, one business day before the webinar.
For MPY hybrid conferences, the date in-person registration closes will be posted on MPY’s website. Virtual conference registration will close one business day before the hybrid conference. You cannot cancel or switch your registration from in-person to virtual after in-person registration closes. Please email Bonnie Mullen with any questions regarding registration.
