Speaker
Jen Magnuson, M.S., BCBA, LABA, Run the Gamut (RTG)
Description
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more integrated into educational and clinical settings, behavior analysts face both exciting opportunities and important ethical responsibilities. AI tools, ranging from automated data collection systems and session note generators to adaptive learning platforms, can significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). However, these technologies must be implemented with careful attention to client dignity, data security, and professional competence. This talk explores practical and ethical considerations for using AI in ABA practice, drawing from the BACB Ethics Code and the latest research from leaders in the field. Attendees will learn how to evaluate and apply AI tools responsibly, ensuring alignment with behavior-analytic principles and ethical safeguards. Topics include informed consent, algorithmic bias, data privacy, and supervision practices. Participants will leave with a clear framework for determining when and how AI can ethically support their practice and enhance outcomes without compromising core professional values.
