Despite firesettings prevalence among youth and its potential dangers, professionals who seek to provide effective and best practice intervention for firesetting remain limited by existing mythology and misinformation, a paucity of research, and a lack of professional training opportunities. This presentation will describe findings on demographic and diagnostic profiles, common motivations for firesetting, and recommended intervention strategies.
