Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth Delivers 21 In-Service Workshops Statewide on Election Day

WAKEFIELD — Executive Director Margie Daniels of Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth (MPY) is pleased to announce that MPY delivered 21 professional development In-Service Workshops across the Commonwealth on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Many school districts hold staff professional development on Election Day. MPY met that need by offering a wide array of timely, relevant trainings led by experts in education, psychology, social work, counseling and student safety. MPY partners with each member district to tailor workshops to local goals and needs.

“Election Day is always our busiest day of the year for In-Service Workshops,” said MPY Prevention and Education Coordinator Amy Welch. “MPY is proud to support 12 districts’ professional development needs. Throughout the day, our presenters will be facilitating 21 In-service Workshops. MPY’s In-Service Workshops cover a wide array of topics, including Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools, Anxiety and School Performance, Section 504 for Student Support Staff and many more. All workshops have been tailored to meet each district’s unique goals and needs.”

MPY’s In-Service Workshop Program offers member districts a catalog of 96 trainings. Sessions are designed to strengthen mental and behavioral health, support social and emotional learning, enhance school safety and foster a positive school culture.
