WAKEFIELD — Executive Director Marge Daniels of the Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth (MPY) announces the details of a conference this week on Identifying and Managing Students at High Risk to Create a Safer School Environment.
Speakers at this conference are experts in forensic mental and behavioral health. Presentations will explore the intersection between mental health issues and youth violence, along with strategies to respond to and manage students’ threats of violence.
Practical considerations for Implementing Threat and Risk Assessment Procedures in Schools will be detailed. In addition, myths and truths about youth fire-setting will be presented, along with the most recent research on youth fire-setters and their propensity for violence.

- Brian LeBlanc, an FBI Supervisory Special Agent assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force in the Boston Division
- James Barrett, Ph.D., the Director of Clinical Support Services at the Cambridge Police Department and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School
- Emma Cardeli, Ph.D., the Clinical Director of the Massachusetts Area Prevention Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School
- Lola Iwanoski, a clinical social worker
- Craig Murphy, Ph.D., Founder and Executive Director of the Family and Educational Wellness Center
- Ashley Murray, Ph.D., a designated forensic evaluator for the state of Massachusetts and the Director of the UMass Chan Forensic Psychology Fellowship
- Dr. Ronald Schouten, M.D., J.D., CTM, DLFAPA, the Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington, D.C.
- Robert Stadolnik, Ed.D., a licensed psychologist and President of FirePsych
