Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth Executive Director Margie Daniels spoke at the “Advancing School Mental Health Conference” in New Orleans on Dec. 5.

Executive Director Daniels was joined by Rennie Center Deputy Director Laura Cinelli, Rennie Center Associate Amanda Chung, and Massachusetts School Mental Health Consortium Executive Director John Crocker in presenting “System Builders: Cultivating School-Based Mental Health Leaders.” Approximately 2,500 attendees from all 50 states attended the national conference.

A collaboration between the MPY, Rennie Center and Massachusetts School Mental Health Consortium, the School Mental Health Leadership Institute is an effort to cultivate school leaders to act as mental health leaders in their districts/schools and be change agents to build a comprehensive school mental health system, with the goal of positively impacting long-term student well-being. A well-attended breakout session introduced the School Mental Health Leadership Institute model to session participants.

“The Advancing School Mental Health Conference was a significant gathering for professionals dedicated to improving the mental/behavioral health of students across the United States,” said Executive Director Daniels. “It was an honor and privilege to present with my esteemed colleagues, Laura Cinelli, Amanda Chung, and John Crocker.”
